i asked my jw mom today...."how do you know if your thoughts are your or god communicating to you?.

the official jw explanation she refered me to is....."you just know"...... .

How about not stalling and answer the question?

How can you prove to me God is putting thoughts in your head...and they are not your own you are mistakingly? presenting as God's?

Should a person standing up and claiming to be God's chosen messenger be prepared for INTENSE scrunity and some tough questions? Or does God want us to listen to everyone who stands up and claims to have been chosen by God to tell us what to do? Do we put our faith in you and your claims......do you define that as putting faith in God?

try proving to us who you are and what you possess......or sit back down before you hurt someone.

christians today don't know jesus.

let's test the waters here, and see what's important to you folks.

Question is.....why spend all that time and research putting that all together and presenting it to everyone?

There is no money or power to be made from it.....I am thinking the intentions behind it are because they honestly care and don't want to see others misled by self-serving people and their guesses.

What else would a person attack a huge, powerful, and rich enemy like that?

Why does my mother think that faith in the FDS and their guesses/religion is the same as faith in God? Is their power that strong over their people?

What things about "Apostates" do you feel is "controlling" as WTS?

one of the things that i have noticed since i have been out is that "apostates"/ex-jw's tend to try and "controll" you the same way as jw's used to do.

for example: whenever you tell an "apostate" that you are no longer one of jw's they right away asume that you want to be a "born-again" christian and try to cram the "trinity" doctrine down your throat.

also if you tell an apostate that you don't share their views on hell-fire damnation they will immediately look at you with "contempt".

So basically you are saying you refuse to suscribe and follow the JW's "guesses" into the great mystery...and you leave only to have others try to get you to come and join in their "guesses" or "religion".

Everybody like that seems to want to be a shepherd....but can't even lead themselves. pretty messed up imo.

Could someone shed light on John 15:26,27?

27and you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.. though i am not trinitarian at this point, this verse seems to add some thinking in that direction to me.

jesus saying that the 'helper' comes from the father, but also that he, jesus, would send it.

lying to them? was it the same as lying to God?

This is kinda confusing....talk about your lie dectector!....If someone has Holy Spirit..can they detect or discern things most people can't? Does God communicate to them and tell them when someone is lying or trying to mislead them? Wouldn't it piss off the people trying to lie to them?

Like someone walking next to you protecting you....yet telling on the ones trying to mislead you.

Would it be safe to say....that people who like to lie and mislead people would not like the Holy Spirit's interference into their plans?

Hey...a thought just came to me...

All you people saying God does not communicate with a human...How was the bible written then?

How did Paul and them know their thoughts from what God was telling him to say and write?

That would be a scary job....there had to be some way to discern one from the other...or you would have had Paul's opinions, desires, and rules presented as God's by mistake. (Sound familar?)

Although some consider this "mistake" a "victory" and road to great power and control.

How many people would follow or obey God if they didn't approv of His means

i see this alot lately.. a person can get valuable information from someone....but they will ignore it if the person is not approved by thier chosen means of communication.

what would happen if god spoke through one of us?

What research did you do to come to that conclusion or guess? Can you let me know so I can check it out for myself?

I am not one to follow guesses nor accept them as fact without proof...no matter how nice of a suit and tie they have on.

I am simply blown away how my mother would die if these people told her to..and will do anything they say. Then when I tell her all the things I have learned on the net...she says she won't read them, because they are "demons" and her choosen means of communication with God told her it was "evil".

Yet I asked her once how she could say such a thing without researching to come to her own conclusion and make her own judgement? No reponse.

Are we created to settle for others guesses...or look for answers not settling until we find them?

Can a guess overpower an answer? Can a answer be intimidated or silenced by a guess if millions agree with it?

I am really confused on this whole guess/answer thing.

I wasn't talking about hearing voices...I was talking about thoughts and questions that arise during the day.

How did God comunicate with the prophets?
